Taking a sustainable approach to our business means that as well as adding value for our clients, we have a positive social and environmental impact.
We have made a number of commitments to globally recognised initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact to stand by our own guiding principles and ethos. We don’t just believe in working with high impact businesses with a greater purpose. We want to be part of the solution too.
The United Nations Global Compact is a non-binding United Nations pact to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies and to report on their implementation. The UN Global Compact is a principle-based framework for businesses, stating ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. Under the Global Compact, companies are brought together with UN agencies, labour groups and civil society.
The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability (corporate social responsibility) initiative with 13,000 corporate participants and other stakeholders over 170 countries with two objectives: “Mainstream the ten principles in business activities around the world” and “Catalyse actions in support of broader UN goals, such as the Millennium Development Goals and Sustaintable Development Goals".

We have partnered with Tree-Nation, a non-profit that gathers and coordinates reforestation efforts worldwide in a unique platform, enabling every citizen, company and planter to take action. Tree-Nation is home to 252 planting projects from 33 different countries.
There are more than 300 different species available to plant on Tree-Nation. There is a range of species from baobabs and cacao trees to some rare trees like the Pachira quinata or majestic ones like the Ceiba pentandra. Each species characteristics are properly documented to enable companies to understand the benefits they provide to the local communities and to the environment.
By planting trees in this way, Castian Global is able to offset its CO2 emissions and keep track of our ongoing impact. We are also able to offer trees to friends and clients, to share this important environmental message and encourage others to take up this cause; this adds value to our services whilst taking care of the planet.
